Use Cases

Fuse multiple data sources

There are satellites, debris and foreign objects in various Earth orbits. Identifying objects is a product of several processes. To get a complete situational overview or verify assumptions, observation data from multiple sources are manually reviewed. Data Fabric MVP is used to combine the data sources and output a complete situational overview of objects in a given geo-spatial location from a single query. Improved Self-service allows data stewards to onboard their data themselves without waiting on the core data fabric MVP team.

Object tracking between Earth and the Moon

Object tracking between Earth and the Moon

From above Earth’s geosynchronous orbit to the edge of the Moon's orbit, there is a large volume of space that will be increasingly active over the next several years. Object tracking in this Cislunar arena is relatively new, with a large space and few objects to track. Data Fabric MVP is used to collect, catalog and deliver Cislunar from commercial and research observations to Space Force operators.

Realtime data replication between edges and cloud

Large volumes of data are collected in disconnected edge environments – flight test centers, submarines, etc. This data needs to be pre-processed in edge environments as well as sent securely up to the cloud to enable collective analysis (when connectivity is available). Data Fabric MVP provides a turn-key solution to be deployed at the edge, pre-process the data, and send it to the cloud. Corsair Ranch software factory is in the early stages of using Data Fabric MVP to transmit Chapter 10 test data from edge-to-cloud

AI/ML Prediction at the edge and in cloud

Vast amounts of correctly labeled data opens up the potential for leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for operational outcomes. ML engineers desire an easy to run tech stack that provides them a short feedback loop to train, test, and validate the algorithms. Data Fabric MVP tech stack was used by Raft’s AI/ML team to win the AFWERX Cogpilot DataThon Challenge where the difficulty level of test flights was predicted based on physiological data from test pilots.

Identify / Detect cyber threats in a federated fashion

The key to improving Cyberthreat awareness is early detection of the attacks at the strategic edge locations. Cyber operators desire a modern Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool that streams logs from systems, aggregates them, draws predictions, visualizes them, and alerts on thresholds – all to reduce the operational time from detection to remediation. Data Fabric MVP is in the early stages of working with Air Force software factories focused on cyber awareness.
